The Illinois College women's swimming team began its season with a loss to Coe College, falling 18-96 at the Coe Natatorium in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Abby Stevens stood out for Illinois College by achieving the fourth-fastest 1,000-yard freestyle time in program history with a finish of 11:55.30. She also secured a win in the 500-yard freestyle event, clocking in at 5:50.32.
Jadyn Grismer contributed victories for the Lady Blues in both the 50-yard freestyle (25.79) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.49). The team of Jena Sellers, Abby Stevens, Laci O'Malley, and Jadyn Grismer won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.54.
The Lady Blues are scheduled to compete next at the Millikin Tri-Meet in Decatur, Illinois on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
