The Illinois College women's tennis team secured two victories in Midwest Conference duals on Saturday, defeating Lawrence University 5-2 and shutting out Ripon College 7-0.

In the morning match against Lawrence, Illinois College lost two of three doubles matches but earned a win at No. 3 doubles with Sabrina Ingram and Sophi Barrow winning 6-4. The Lady Blues then took five of six singles matches, with Clara Bach (No. 2), Sophie Muir (No. 3), Lily Ingram (No. 4), Morgan Keefe (No. 5), and Sabrina Ingram (No. 6) all contributing wins. Bach and both Ingrams won their matches in straight sets.

During the afternoon match versus Ripon, Illinois College swept all three doubles contests: Alyssa Wise and Bach at No. 1, Muir and Lily Ingram at No. 2, and Barrow with Sabrina Ingram at No. 3. Wise claimed a three-set victory at No. 1 singles, while Bach, Muir, Lily Ingram, Keefe, and Sabrina Ingram all won in straight sets to complete the shutout.

With these results, Illinois College's overall record stands at 11-7 with a conference record of 3-3.

According to the program's update, "The wins should secure IC's spot in the Midwest Conference Team Tournament, which will take place this spring. The league will announce the qualifiers in the coming days."

The team is scheduled to compete next weekend in the Midwest Conference Individual Tournament in Madison.
