The Illinois College women's soccer team secured a 5-0 win over Cornell in a Midwest Conference match on Saturday at England Stadium. The Lady Blues scored all five goals in the first half, marking their best start to conference play in school history with a 4-1-0 record. Their overall record now stands at 8-6-2, while Cornell fell to 2-11-0 and remains winless in conference matches.

The opening goal came from Alica Rodriguez at the 9:37 mark, assisted by Katy Adler. Adler then scored unassisted less than six minutes later. Rodriguez added her second goal of the match at 19:30, this time with an assist from Holly Morehart. McKenzie Murray increased the lead further with a goal assisted by Mady Brewer before Abby Keeton closed out the first half scoring after receiving a pass from Brianna Noud.

Illinois College dominated offensively, outshooting Cornell 27-5. Adler led with four shots, while Rodriguez and Murray each contributed three shots.

Goalkeeper Jesse Trost played the first 75 minutes and recorded two saves without conceding a goal. Haley Schuerman finished the match and also made two saves.

Before kickoff, Illinois College recognized its senior class of Emma Huelskamp, Abby Love, Olivia Ralston, and Kassie Weideman.

Looking ahead, Illinois College will travel to Monmouth for another Midwest Conference game on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
