Illinois College volleyball defeats Lake Forest on Senior Day to stay unbeaten in conference

The Illinois College volleyball team maintained its undefeated record in the Midwest Conference after a 3–1 victory over Lake Forest College on Senior Day at Sherman Gymnasium in Jacksonville, Illinois.

After losing the first set 25–22, the Lady Blues responded by winning the next three sets with scores of 25–17, 25–22, and 25–20. This win improved their overall record to 8–14 and kept them at 3–0 in conference play.

Haylie Orton led Illinois College with 12 kills while hitting .391. She also recorded two service aces and two solo blocks, totaling a match-high 16 points. Laura Kaiser contributed with 10 kills and four total blocks. Riley Drake added nine kills and collected 12 digs.

The team's offense was directed by Summer Brandis and Kahli O'Neal, who had 18 and 20 assists respectively. Brandis also added three digs and an ace, while O'Neal provided ten digs. Mady Salisbury played a key role defensively with 12 digs and two aces, while Reagan Oster added four aces and eight digs.

Illinois College finished the match with a .193 hitting percentage as a team, alongside 11 service aces and nine total blocks. They limited Lake Forest to a .109 hitting percentage.

The Lady Blues will return home for another conference matchup against Grinnell College on Tuesday, October 21 at 6:00 p.m., which will also serve as their Dig Pink game.
