The Illinois College women's swimming team achieved its first two dual meet wins of the season on Saturday at the Decatur YMCA Pool. The Lady Blues defeated North Central with a score of 133-55 and Millikin with a score of 111-83.
Abby Stevens led the team by winning both the 1,000-yard freestyle in 12:01.20 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:50.86. Jadyn Grismer also won two events, finishing first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.35 and taking the top spot in the 100-yard backstroke at 1:03.08.
Julie Edwards added to the team's victories by winning the 200-yard individual medley in 2:33.93, while Jena Sellers secured a win in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:00.18.
The Lady Blues finished strong as Sellers, Stevens, Laci O'Malley, and Grismer teamed up to win the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:47.32.
The next competition for Illinois College will be at Monmouth for the Monmouth Invite on November 1st at 1 p.m.
