Illinois College men's swimming extends dual meet win streak to thirteen

The Illinois College men's swimming team extended its dual meet winning streak to 13 after securing victories over North Central and Millikin at the Decatur YMCA Pool on Saturday.

Illinois College defeated North Central with a score of 143-31 and overcame Millikin 139-48. The current streak of 13 consecutive dual meet wins dates back to the previous season.

Among the individual performances, Eli Eberle won both the 50-yard freestyle (22.07 seconds) and the 100-yard freestyle (49.77 seconds). Nathen Trachta also achieved two wins, finishing first in the 100-yard butterfly (57.31 seconds) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:14.34).

Additional event winners for Illinois College included Cade Emerick in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:26.18), Scottie Nicotra in the 200-yard freestyle (1:51.93), Lucas Sullens in the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.63), and John Masiliunas in the 100-yard backstroke (59.66).

The Blueboys also claimed victory in two relay events. The team of Masiliunas, Ethan Norton, Sullens, and Eberle won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:45.21. In the 200-yard freestyle relay, Gavin Rasmussen, Nicotra, Sullens, and Trachta finished first with a time of 1:34.53.

The next competition for Illinois College will be at Monmouth for the Monmouth Invite on November 1 at 1:00 p.m.
