Timo Kato has been named the Midwest Conference Special Teams Performer of the Week for the second time in three weeks, according to an announcement from the league.
Kato, who is from Niles, Illinois, recorded four returns totaling 107 yards and scored a touchdown during Illinois College's recent victory over Knox. He returned three punts for 81 yards, including a 64-yard punt return that marked Illinois College's first score of the game. Additionally, he contributed a 26-yard kickoff return.
Two weeks prior, Kato received the same award after accumulating 106 yards and a touchdown on four returns in Illinois College’s win against Lawrence. He also earned this recognition during week three of his freshman season.
Illinois College will play its next game on Saturday at Ripon in another Midwest Conference matchup scheduled for noon.
