Sabrina Ingram wins consolation title for Illinois College at MWC tennis tournament

Sabrina Ingram, a senior at Illinois College, secured the consolation championship in the No. 6 singles flight during the Midwest Conference Individual Tournament held Sunday in Madison, Wisconsin. Ingram achieved the title after defeating Rachael Pofahl of Lawrence with a score of 8-6.

Illinois College had two additional players competing on Sunday. Alyssa Wise, who played in the No. 1 singles flight, and Clara Bach, who competed in the No. 2 flight, both lost their respective consolation final matches.

In doubles competition, Illinois College saw two pairs advance past their opening matches before being eliminated in the semifinals. The team of Sophie Muir and Lilly Ingram won their first match at No. 2 doubles, while Sophi Barrow and Sabrina Ingram did the same at No. 3 doubles.

The Lady Blues are scheduled to return to action on February 27th when they host Avila in Jacksonville at 2:00 p.m.
