Lawrence University defeated the Illinois College women's soccer team 1-0 in the semifinals of the Midwest Conference Tournament on Friday at Mohr Field in Lake Forest, Illinois. The only goal came in the second half when Renate Hramiec scored for Lawrence at the 71:54 mark.

Illinois College finished its season with a record of 10-8-2, while Lawrence improved to 10-4-6 and advanced to the tournament final. Despite pushing offensively and outshooting Lawrence 7-0 in the first half, Illinois College was unable to score. For the match, Illinois College had nine shots compared to six from Lawrence, with McKenzie Murray leading her team with two shots.

Goalkeeper Stella Gonzalez played all 90 minutes for Illinois College and made three saves.

This game marked Illinois College's first appearance in the Midwest Conference Tournament. The team also achieved a program-best conference record of 6-2-0 this season. Additionally, their six conference wins set a new school record. With ten total victories this year, they matched last season’s win total and are one shy of tying the program’s single-season record of eleven wins set in 2014.

"IC finished the season with a 6-2-0 record in Midwest Conference play, the best league record in program history… IC's six league wins were also a school record… the Lady Blues' 10 wins are the second-most in program history (tied with last season's squad) and one shy of the program record of 11, set in 2014," according to information released by Illinois College.
