Illinois College men’s swimming defeats Monmouth to extend winning streak

The Illinois College men's swimming team secured a decisive 125-58 win over Monmouth in a dual meet held Saturday at Coultas Natatorium. This result brings the team's overall record to 4-0 and extends its dual meet winning streak to 14, continuing from last season.

The meet began with the Illinois College 400-yard medley relay team—John Masiliunas, Ethan Norton, Eli Eberle, and Scottie Nicotra—claiming victory with a time of 3:38.03. Konnor Cartee followed by winning the 1,650-yard freestyle in 20:30.82.

Lucas Sullens finished first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:52.46. Scottie Nicotra won the 400-yard individual medley in 4:31.65.

John Masiliunas earned another win for Illinois College in the 200-yard backstroke, while Nathen Trachta took first place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:25.55.

To close out the day, the team of Eberle, Trachta, Sullens, and Nicotra won the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:23.50.

Illinois College's men's swimming team will next compete at the Beloit Mid-Season meet scheduled for November 21st and 22nd.
