The Illinois College women's basketball team ended their participation in the Principia Tip-Off Tournament with an 88–55 defeat to UW–Stevens Point on Saturday in Elsah, Illinois. The loss puts the Lady Blues at 0-2 for the season, while UW–Stevens Point begins their campaign with a 1-0 record.
During the first quarter, both teams exchanged baskets, and Illinois College trailed by just three points, 18–15, after ten minutes. However, UW–Stevens Point gained momentum in the second half and extended their lead.
Jayln Patterson led Illinois College in scoring with 14 points. She also contributed six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks. Aubrey Kietzman came off the bench to score seven points without missing a shot. Cora DeSutter and Danielle Beach each added six points. As a team, Illinois College shot 31.9 percent from the field and made 22 free throws.
Looking ahead, Illinois College will host Westminster College at home on Friday, November 14th at 7:00pm as part of the IC Invitational.
