Illinois College senior Malik Byndom has been recognized as the Midwest Conference Defensive Performer of the Week, according to an announcement from the league on Monday.
Byndom, who plays defensive back and is from St. Louis, recorded two interceptions and four solo tackles during Illinois College's 24-0 win against Cornell. This victory marked the Blueboys' fourth consecutive win and their third shutout of the season.
The team will finish its regular season with a game at Beloit on Saturday. The kickoff is scheduled for noon.
