The Illinois College Valorant team concluded its fall season with a narrow loss in the first round of the NECC playoffs against Lakeland University. The best-of-three series ended 2-1 in favor of Lakeland.
Illinois College started strong on its chosen map, Bind, securing a 14–12 win. Lakeland responded by taking the second map, Pearl, with a score of 13–8. The deciding third map, Haven, was closely contested, but Illinois College lost 14–12.
Dwight Duijneveld delivered a standout performance during the series, recording 87 kills and breaking his own single-series record for Illinois College set earlier in the season. Fray Moulton also achieved one of the top-five kill totals in program history with 68 kills.
The match statistics highlighted contributions from several players. Carter Naeve finished with 32 kills and 20 assists; Ekko Nguyen had 31 kills and led with 30 assists; Jonest Eisfelder recorded 46 kills and contributed five first bloods; Dwight Duijneveld’s efforts included 24 first bloods and four defuses; Fray Moulton added eight first bloods and three plants.
With this result, Illinois College ends its fall campaign and will prepare for the upcoming spring season.
