By Daniel Daw | Mar 1, 2016

The Springfield, Illinois City Council will be discussing several ordinances including an intergovernmental agreement with the county during its meeting tonight at 5:30 at Springfield City Hall.

The agreement with Sangamon County would entail cooperative measures. This ordinance would also finalize an agreement for professional services with Hanson Professional Services Inc. in relation to the Minority Participation Plan. If finalized the agreement would be valid until Dec. 31, 2017. This ordinance is within the consent agenda, which consists of eight agenda items in total.

Other agenda items within this section include updating the amount of liquor licenses due to the closure of a local establishment; the finalization of a subrecipient agreement with the Springfield Arc Endowment Fund Inc. in order to remove architectural barriers, and an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois State Police to use its police academy for training between Friday, March 18 and Sunday, June 5.

There will also be discussions relating to ordinances that have been tabled or are currently within committee deliberation. The council will also be considering ordinances that would finalize appointments to the Community Relations Commission, the Historic Sites Commission and an appointment of the deputy city treasurer.
