Chatham Library Board discussed building approvals

Library

The Chatham, Illinois Area Public Library District held a meeting this week to discuss matters relating to building work.

The board was to vote on approving heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) controls replacement. The matter was first discussed during the Jan. 18 meeting. A component of the HVAC controls for the library will reach the end of it operational cycle in December. At that time, the company that had previously installed the program, Alpha Controls, offered to replace the software and provided the board with a price quote. Environmental Control Systems was discussed as an alternative at the January meeting.

The board also considered a contract with B&B Electric for electrical services at this week's meeting.

The meeting also consisted of reports from the director, the art committee and the Friends of the Library. During the Art Committee report, the winners of the library’s Call to Entry show were announced.

The board also discussed resealing the parking lot asphalt. During the meeting, a discussion with an attorney was to be held.

The next meeting will be taking place on April 18.
