The City of Springfield, Illinois Public Works Department announced Thursday that road work has begun on 11th Street.
Construction is taking place in order to repair an inlet and to complete street restoration near Germania Avenue. As a result of this, traffic going north is limited to one lane of traffic beginning at the 11th Street and Germania Avenue intersection.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to take caution when travelling in the area and to be aware of workers and work trucks entering and exiting the work site. The notice also states that motorists should avoid the area during peak traffic hours and recommend that alternative routes be used if possible.
If weather allows work to be completed this repair work is expected to be completed in two days.
