Sangamon court services committee hires assistant public defender

The Sangamon County Court Services Committee met Jan. 5 to hire an assistant public defender.

Here is the meeting's agenda, as provided by the committee:

"The Court Services committee oversees the budgets of the Adult Probation, Circuit Clerk, Circuit Court, Juvenile Probation, Juvenile Center, and the Public Defender."

Court Administration - Suzann Maxheimer

Court Services - Mike Torchia o Approval to hire a Treatment Specialist at an annual salary of $41,190.00 effective January 30, 2017. Previous employee left the payroll on December 30, 2016. Approval to hire a Treatment Specialist at an annual salary of $41,190.00 effective February 27, 2017. Previous employee will leave the payroll on January 27, 2017.

Circuit Clerk - Paul Palazzoo/David Dural o Approval to hire an Ordinance Violation Clerk at an annual salary of $26,691.22 effective February 13, 2017. Previous employee left the payroll on December 30, 2016. Approval to hire a Part Time Traffic Court Clerk at an hourly salary of $11.14 effective January 30, 2017. Previous employee left the payroll on December 16, 2016.

Public Defender - Bob Scherschligt

o Approval to hire an Assistant Public Defender (part time) at an annual salary of $32,895.00 effective January 16, 2017. Previous employee left the payroll on December 5, 2016.
