The Illinois State Police (ISP) Troopers' Merit Board is calling for applications to join the force on an ongoing basis, and encourages those interested in working in law enforcement to apply.
The ISP highlighted the wide range of careers available to applicants under the umbrella of its law enforcement functions. While all new officers are assigned to patrol upon graduating the ISP Academy, they can then transfer to a range of specialties, including crime scene investigators, SWAT officers, pilots, K-9 officers, investigators, motorcycle officers or safety education officers on patrol.
Those interested in a career with the ISP should visit the ISP Merit Board website, where they can complete an application.
Any questions about employment at the ISP can be directed to Sgt. Elbert Jennings at 217-785-4370 or Elbert_Jennings@isp.state.il.us, or Special Agent Melissa Uhles, at 618-346-3482 or Melissa_Uhles@isp.state.il.us.
