Williamsville Garden Club met March 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the Club:

Members present: Valerie Patterson, Polly Wise, Linda Koeberlein, Marsha Menzel, Kim Knox, Linda Wise, Joyce Cooper, Carol Carter, Laura Horton, Deb Bracey, Henrietta Gharst, and Jenny Brennan

Public Present: Tom Yokley and Natalie Albers

Minutes: The minutes from February 4, 2017 were read aloud by Laura Horton.

Meeting:

 Tom Yokley spoke to the group asking if anything was needed

 Linda Koeberlein was introduced and welcomed as a new member

 Natalie Albers from the Williamsville Library and Museum spoke about the Backyard Basics and handed out a flyer detailing upcoming events happening at the library and museum

o Door Prizes for the BYB include:

 Gift cards to Subway and Huddle House – Kim

 Gift card to Bella – Marsha Menzel

 Gift card to Serenity Spa in Sherman - Kim

 A timeline of Garden Club activities, by month, was presented and discussed

 Pots at the library were discussed and an option for adding in holiday themed items was suggested – shamrocks for St. Patrick’s Day, bunny ears for Easter, and the like

 Duties and Responsibilities of elected offices were discussed and an election of officers took place resulting in:

o President – Nique Scarbrough

o Vice President – Laura Horton

o Secretary/Treasurer – Jenny Brennan

o Director/Facilitator for new landscape projects – Linda Wise

o Facebook Page Administrator – Henrietta Gharst

 It was recommended for Linda to ask Nique if she could join her at the upcoming Community Foundation meeting, (3/6/17), were a discussion of Boo on the Boulevard would be taking place

 Donation items are needed for the May Quarter Auction – Garden Club is the charity for May

o Deb Bracey – apron

 Laura Horton, Marsha Menzel and Kim Knox will lead the team for the summer pots. They were given a budget of up to $1000.00 for this task. They will incorporate school colors into the pots on the boulevard to compliment the upcoming All School Reunion

 The first work day for spring clean-up was set for 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 7, 2017

 The library paid $500 to the village for their pots to be used by the Garden Club. This will be logged into the treasury spreadsheet.
