Williamsville Garden Club met February 4.

Here is the minutes provided by the Club:

Members present: Deb Bracey, Carol Carter, Joyce Cooper, Paul Finley, Ingrid Forsberg, Henrietta Gharst, Lara Horton, Kerri Huffman, Kim Knox, Deb Larson, Marsha Menzel, Valerie Patterson, Darlene Sagle, Nique Scarbrough, Marti Williams, Polly Wise, and Linda Wise

Linda introduced Tom Yokley and Valerie Patterson who are both running for mayor. They both talked about their commitment to the garden club and to the village. Introduction of New Members: We welcome Marti Williams, Polly Wise, and Ingrid Forsberg to our club. 

Minutes from last Meeting: Laura Horton read the minutes from our Nov. meeting

Members were informed on the location of the boxcar key. When the weather gets warmer we will be organizing our materials. The library decorations will also be stored in the boxcars.

Treasurer’s Report: Valerie reported that we have $5488.78 in our account. $2500.00 of that is a donation from the Foundation for the landscaping at the community center.

Backyard Basics Program: Natalie Albers reported that the BYBP will be March 25th from 9-12. The topic will be In and Out! with guest speakers Gus Jones and Greg Pierceall. Gus will talk about vegetable gardening and Greg will talk about succulents. The succulent talk will be a make and take. Door prizes were discussed and the garden club will donate items for this.

Seasonal Library Pots: Deb Larson, Paul, Henrietta, and Nique will be on a committee to replace the stock in the pots seasonally.

Election of Officers: will be at our March 4th meeting Linda will be sending out criteria of the different offices. Everyone should consider helping out with these important roles.

Community Center Landscape Design: Ingrid presented her design for the community center. There was discussion about keeping a patio in front and a concrete vs. pavers ensued. Ingrid thought the plants would be around $2000.00.Possible monies generated for the patio could come from TIF funds or from the Community Foundation.

Summer Pots Volunteer: looking for someone to design and purchase
