Williams Township Cemeteries Board of Trustees met June 12.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

The Williams Township Cemetery Board was called to order at 6:30 P.M. by President Nadine Hayward. In attendance were Trustees Mark Phillips and Duane Weiss.


The May 8, 2017 minutes were reviewed and a motion to approve the minutes as amended was made by Duane Weiss and a second was made by Mark Phillips. Motion approved.

The monthly finances were reviewed. Mark Phillips made a motion to approve and Duane Weiss made a motion to second. Motion approved.

Nadine Hayward, Duane Weiss, and Dwight O’Keefe, the township attorney, attended the Logan County Zoning Board meeting in Elkhart on June 1, 2017. The board approved our petition to change the “Powell addition” at Walnut Hill Cemetery from farming to cemetery use and will recommend to the county that our petition be approved.

We need to start laying out Section 5 at Walnut Hill Cemetery as soon as possible, weather permitting.

The Cemetery Rules and Regulations were submitted as amended.

Section 1

c. ….A charge of $100.00 for a headstone internment.

Mark Phillips made a motion to approve the Rules and Regulations as submitted. Duane Weiss seconded. All trustees affixed their signatures and the original was submitted to the township office.

Mark Phillips made a motion to adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 7:30 P.M.
