Lincoln Library Board of Trustees met July 26.

Here is the minutes as provided by the board:

Board Present: Helen Cox, Vice President; Cristina Cray; Davida Fanniel; Mary Mucciante; Dr. Donald Ross; Marty Ryan, Secretary.

Board Absent: Larry Harvell; Arden Lang, President; Stuart Shiffman.

Staff Present: Jeff Blazis, Fiscal Officer; William O'Hearn, Director.

Public Present: None.

Vice-President Cox, called the meeting to order at 4:47 p.m.

Introduction: New Lincoln Library Direction, William O'Hearn, was welcomed and introduced to the members of the Lincoln Library Board.

Minutes: Mr. Ryan made a motion to approve the minutes from the June 2017 meeting of the Board. Ms. Cray seconded the motion and the motion carried.

Financial Reports: The May and June 2017 financial reports were reviewed. The Board had no questions.

Director’s Report:

Vacancies - The Librarian I vacancy in Technical Services has been filled with an internal candidate, creating a Library Assistant II vacancy in the Circulation Department.

Security Cameras - Installation of several new security cameras is underway. The new cameras will offer better visibility of the Circulation desk, Study Rooms and areas of the third floor. It has been discovered that a tilt, pan, Zoom camera was inadvertently omitted from the A1 quote. The Lincoln Library Foundation Board approved the purchase of the additional camera at their July 26, 2017, meeting.

Lincoln Library Foundation: Ms. Cox reported that the Foundation Board met prior to the Lincoln Library Board. At the meeting, they welcomed new member, David Claunch, approved the purchase of the additional security camera and discussed the potential purchase of an additional year of the State JournalRegister Archive.

Friends of Lincoln Library: - The Friends of Lincoln Library Board are scheduled to meet in the Bicentennial Room, at 4:45 p.m., on Tuesday, August 1. 2017.
