Harris highlights Springfield airport award on House floor
In case House floor members were worried whether there was anything good to point out about Illinois, Rep. David Harris (R-Arlington Heights) put their minds at ease.
As usual, Harris used his point of personal privilege on Tuesday to note that the Springfield's Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport recently received an award.
“It was recognized by the federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA )for its outstanding efforts to ensure security,” Harris said.
TSA in February honored the airport with the National Partnership Award for its excellent efforts to collaborate with federal, state and local partners, Harris added.
“So the next time you fly through the Capital City Airport, you know that you are going through a safe airport as are all airports in Illinois,” Harris said.
