Zoning Committee
Sangamon County Zoning has drafted a new agreement for zoning issues that the village will probably be part
of in the future.
Sewer Committee
Adam Pallai from Martin Engineering attended this evening’s meeting. He stated that this afternoon USDA
notified him that they should be ready to close the first week in May. This will allow the first sewer, interest
only, payment to be made on November 1, 2018. Mr. Pallai contacted Bill Kenny regarding this news. There
may be some meetings that have to take place with him before construction begins.
The sewage treatment contract had to have an update that will be discussed and up for approval later in the
meeting.
Mr. Pallai stated that the contractor will start construction at the lift station so Mayor Luckey will have to sign
the highway and railroad permit tonight in order for this to occur.
A vendor told Mr. Pallai and Mr. Kenny about a product that the village may be interested in purchasing in the
future if there are extra funds. This product is a fiberglass hut that goes over the top of everything at the lift
station. All piping is contained inside and a heater is included. This product would save the contractor time by
eliminating the need for building a vault for the lift station. Mr. Kenny figured the cost and determined that to
use this fiberglass hut, it would cost an extra $18,000. Mr. Pallai said that after construction has started and if
there are contingency funds available, he will bring this idea up to the board again for discussion.
