Cost of college was unchanged for all students at University of Illinois at Springfield

In-state tuition and fees was unchanged for 2017-18 at University of Illinois at Springfield, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

Illinois residents paid $11,413 to attend the four-year public institution in both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 academic years.

Non-residents paid 83.5 percent more than residents this year, or $20,938. Their price tag was unchanged from $20,938 in 2016-17.

About 90 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Illinois residents. About 5 percent are residents of other states and 4 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 242 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.01 million and 145 students took out student loans totaling more than $790,077.

Including all undergraduates, 1,890 students used grants or scholarships totaling $16.57 million. Another 1,428 took out $10.49 million in federal student loans.
