City of Springfield issued the following announcement on June 19.
City Water, Light and Power crews are responding to a power outage affecting
over 6,000 customers several areas throughout Springfield. Several power lines
are down due to storm damage and further damage and outage assessment is
underway. Crews and Dispatch will work to see that power is restored as quickly
and safely as possible.
Any customers seeing power lines down or trees down on lines, should report to
789-2121. Customers should not attempt to clear trees or other debris from lines
and all lines should be treated as live even in areas where power is out.
Customers can view and track their electric service status from the new outage
map, available from the Outage Center link at CWLP.com at
https://outagemap.cwlp.com/. More information and updates on outage status
will be posted on the CWLP Facebook and Twitter pages,
www.facebook.com/4CWLP, www.twitter.com/CWLP_ and shared with media
this evening as necessary. Customers can also contact Electric Dispatch at 789-
2121 for more information but please note call volume is currently very high.
