City of Springfield issued the following announcement on June 22.
Washington Street, between 4th and 7th Street will be closed all day, June 23. This is for the Springfield
Art Association’s Paint the Street. The street will reopen Sunday morning.
SCHEELS 5K RUN
On Saturday, June 23 from 6:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m., the southbound lane on Lincoln Shire to Macarthur
Boulevard north to Center Street will be closed for the Scheels 5K Run.
The following street will be under construction beginning Monday, June 25 for asphalt paving
(patching), weather permitting.
• Emporia Drive
The following streets will be under construction for concrete work, weather permitting. Work will include
removing and replacing portions of curb and gutter and updating accessibility ramps on sidewalks:
• 4th Street (Broad - Ash)
• Ash Street (MLK – Taylor)
• Bonneville Drive
• Cherry Road (at Bates)
• Cook Street (MacArthur – State)
• Douglas Avenue (S Grand – Williams)
• Holmes Avenue (Cedar – S. Grand)
• Louise Lane
• Lucerne Drive
• Ocala Lane
• Outer Park Drive (HyVee-MacArthur)
• Luke’s Court
• Mary’s Court
• Willow Lane
• Woodland Drive (MacArthur – Walnut)
The following streets will be under construction for the city’s sidewalk program, weather permitting.
• Cherylwood Drive
• Cook Street (Eastdale – Livingston)
• Huntington Road (W. Lake Shore – Moorgate)
• Kent Drive (W. Lake Shore – Moorgate)
