Latham Fire Protection District responded to 19 calls in 2017 - 26.9 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Latham included 15 fires - 10 structure fires, two vehicle fires and three other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,500,002 in fire loss - or about $100,000 per fire.

The department also received two false calls.

The Latham Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $193,779 in 2017.
