Auburn Fire Protection District responded to 27 calls in 2017 - 68.8 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Auburn included 18 fires - nine structure fires, three vehicle fires and six other fires.

The department also received nine false calls.
