Illiopolis Volunteer Fire Department responded to 29 calls in 2017 - 163.6 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Illiopolis included 24 fires - five structure fires, three vehicle fires and 16 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $20 in fire loss - or about $1 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

The Illiopolis Volunteer Fire Department had an annual budget of $43,254 in 2017.
