Village of Loami Village Board met May 10.

Mayor Mann called the regular meeting to order at 6:00PM

Treasurer’s Report: Mayor Mann presented the April 2018 Treasurer’s report to the board for approval. Trustee Holloway made a motion to accept the report as presented to the board. Trustee Patterson seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Approval Of Minutes: Mayor Mann presented the April 12th, 2018 Regular Board Meeting Minutes to the board for approval. Trustee Hamilton made an amendment to the minutes. Patterson made a motion to approve the Regular Meeting minutes as amended. Trustee Branson seconded it. All favored, motion carried.

Approval Of Payments: Mayor Mann presented the unpaid bills to the board for approval. Trustee Patterson made a motion to accept the unpaid bills as presented to the board. Trustee Holloway seconded it. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

Visitors: Jen Hayes approached the board about a dog at large across the street from her home. Chief Workman stated he has spoken to the owner to no avail. Chief Workman asked Attorney Rabin if he could write a letter to the owner of the dog informing her that she keep the dog on a leash or within a confined enclosure as required by Illinois Statue and Village Code. Attorney Rabin stated he would.

Gordan Ball approached the board asking where the Village is at with his zoning complaint regarding the property next door to him. Attorney Rabin stated it is in a holding period right now and he has discussed this with Mr. Balls Attorney. Attorney Rabin advised the board to go into Executive Session after the Regular Meeting to discuss this matter further due to pending litigation.

Old Business: Mayor Mann presented Ordinance 2018-03 An Ordinance making Appropriation for all Corporate Purposes for the Village of Loami, Illinois, for the Fiscal Year Commencing on the 1st Day of May 2018 and Ending on the 30th Day of April 2019. Trustee Patterson made a motion to approve Ordinance 2018-03. Trustee Holloway seconded the motion. Vote taken, motion carries. Roll call – Branson – Aye, Hamilton – Aye, Holloway – Aye, Mann – Aye, Patterson – Aye. Nay – 0.

New Business: Mayor Mann stated no New Business.

Department Reports:

Parks – Mayor Mann asked Trustee Branson is assist Trustee McCann with overlooking the Park Department. Trustee Branson stated he would.

Streets Department – Trustee Hamilton stated that the Street Department did purchase the Salt Hopper other than that everything is looking pretty good.

Police Department – Trustee Mann stated that the Police Department is running normal right now and the Loami PD is scheduled for weapons qualification. Chief Workman submitted the Police Report to the board and it is on file at the Village Hall.

Permits – Trustee Mann stated no permits.

Delinquent Bills – Trustee Mann stated three shut-off and three turned back on.

Water/Sewer Department – Trustee Holloway stated that the water is doing good, and Public Works Supervisor had to buy some more parts for the Sewer.

Public Safety – Trustee Mann thanked Clerk Glynn for writing the letter to Mr. Schlemm thanking him for donating the fish dinners to residents in need. Trustee Mann stated that on May 19th is the annual clean-up day so hopefully those residents who we identified to clean-up their property will take avenge of this opportunity.

Trustee Hamilton made a motion to adjourn the Regular Board meeting and go into Executive Session. Trustee Patterson seconded the motion.

Mayor Mann reopened the Regular Board Meeting.

With no further business at hand, Trustee Patterson made a motion to adjourn the regular meeting. Trustee Mann seconded the motion. All favored, motion carried.

The next regular board meeting will be at 6PM on Thursday, June 14th, 2018.
