Village of Chatham Board of Trustees met June 12.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

A. Public hearing on annexation agreement

1. Public Hearing will hear public comment concerning zoning changes requested within an annexation agreement with the Janet Marcia Jones Currie Trust.

Shellie Petty and Amy Byers from both the Chatham Chamber of Commerce and Board Director of the Chatham Library spoke in high favor of the zoning changes requested within the annexation agreement.

Absent: Trustee Lindhorst

Others present: Clerk Dahlkamp, Village Code Enforcer Crawford, Police Chief Foli, and Attorney Jurgens.

4. Public Announcements

Les Morgan- Announced the Memorial Day Services went great. He thanked Village Administrator McCarthy for all of his efforts in making this event a success. Homecoming is June 21st to 23rd this year. The parade will be Saturday at 5:00 pm. July 4th there will be the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Village President Kimsey- There will be a focus group regarding the Comprehensive Plan meeting at the Chatham Library June 25th, at 6 pm. All are welcomed to attend.

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Gerger to put the consent agenda on the table for action. The consent agenda passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

1. A Resolution Recognizing the Achievements of Ava Gorrie, Resolution 26-18

Recognizing Glenwood Middle School track state champion, Ava Gorrie. Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to put the resolution on the table for action. Resolution 26-18 passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

2. A Resolution Recognizing the Achievements of Drew Verenski, Resolution 27-18

Recognizing Glenwood Middle School track state champion, Drew Verenski. Trustee Gerger moved, seconded by Trustee Scherschel to put the resolution on the table for action. Resolution 27-18 passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

*Trustee Fountain requested that we speak with IDOT regarding both state champion's having their signs visible from Route 4.

3. An Ordinance Approving An Annexation Agreement Between The Village Of Chatham And The Janet Marcia Jones Currie Individual Trust, Ordinance 18-29

Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to put the ordinance on the table for action. Ordinance 18-29 passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

4. An Ordinance Approving The Annexation Of Certain Property Known As The Currie Property To The Village Of Chatham, Ordinance 18-30

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Fountain to put the ordinance on the table for action. Ordinance 18-30 passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

5. An Ordinance Approving The Rezoning Of Property Owned By The Janet Marcia Jones Currie Individual Trust To P-1 Pursuant To An Annexation Agreement, Ordinance 18-31

Trustee Gerger moved, seconded by Trustee Fountain to put the ordinance on the table for action. Ordinance 18-31 passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

6. An Ordinance Approving A Petition For Rezoning Amendment, Ordinance 18-32

Trustee Scherschel moved, seconded by Trustee Fountain to put the ordinance on the table for action. Ordinance 18-32 passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

7. An Ordinance Approving A Petition For Grant Of Special Use, Ordinance 18-33

Trustee Mann moved, seconded by Trustee Gerger to put the ordinance on the table for action. Trustee Mann moved to ammend a part of the ordinance for the owner of the property to make a lighting plan and any signs associated with gambling signs. This will need to be provided back to the board. The ammended part of the ordinance passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent. Ordinance 18-33 passed 4 yes, 1 no, and 1 absent as follows: Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mau no, and Lindhorst absent.

8. A Resolution Approving A Cm&T Work Order For The Park Street Repair Project And Construction Observation Of Said Project, Resolution 28-18

Trustee Fountain moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to put the resolution on the table for action. Resolution 28-18 passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

9. A Resolution Approving The Bluecross Blueshield Of Illinois Renewal Effective July 1, 2018, Resolution 29-18

Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Mann to put the resolution on the table for action. Resolution 29-18 passed 5 yes, 0 no, and 1 absent as follows: Gerger yes, Fountain yes, Mann yes, Scherschel yes, Mau yes, and Lindhorst absent.

10. A Resolution Approving A Municipal Utility Easement Agreement Between The Village Of Chatham And The Greater Springfield Hindu Temple, Resolution 30-18
