City of Springfield Police Department issued the following announcement on July 6.
The Teen Police Academy is a free program available for teens 13-year through 17-years old. The
program runs July 16 thru 18 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. each day. Participants learn about the
responsibilities of a police officer, tactics for defense, how an Emergency Response Team operates,
firearms safety, gang awareness and much more. Online registration is available here:
