Mt Pulaski Community Unit School District 23 students suspended 38 times in a single school year

Mt Pulaski Community Unit School District 23 reported 38 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 38 students during the year. That equates to 7.5 percent of the 509 students enrolled.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 27 incidents. There were one incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For 25 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 10 out-of-school suspensions, all were given to boys.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes eight incidents. There were one incidents of violence that caused physical injury. For seven incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.
