Rep. Nikki Budzinski, currently serving in the U.S. Congress for Illinois’ 13th district, has shared several statements on social media reflecting her legislative priorities and recent activities. These posts underscore her focus on child welfare, healthcare advancements, and pharmaceutical regulations.
On November 22, 2024, Budzinski emphasized the impact of the Child Tax Credit expansion enacted in 2021. She stated that this policy significantly reduced child poverty rates by half and expressed her commitment to making this measure permanent to support working families financially and invest in children's futures. "When Congress expanded the Child Tax Credit in 2021, it cut the child poverty rate in HALF. I’m fighting to make this proven policy permanent to put more money back in the pockets of working families and invest in the future of our children."
Later that day, Budzinski visited Mid-American Transplant to observe their efforts in facilitating organ donations within Illinois’ 13th district. Her visit highlighted the importance of organ donation in saving lives and providing hope to patients while supporting donor families during difficult times. "Organ donation saves lives and gives patients hope. Today, I visited Mid-American Transplant to learn about their work in #IL13 to facilitate safe, reliable donations for organ and tissue transplant, as well as support donor families through a time of grief and loss."
On November 25, 2024, Budzinski addressed concerns over pharmaceutical companies' practices. She criticized these entities for not adhering to rules aimed at lowering costs for Americans and vowed continued efforts against what she described as predatory behaviors by Big Pharma. "Big Pharma thinks that they don't have to play by the rules - but we're not going to stop fighting back against their predatory practices to lower costs for everyday Americans."
