Sangamon County said "yes" to two referendums and "no" to three others on Nov. 6.
Voters approved a referendum calling for a decision on Capital Township, an advisory question as to whether Capital Township should pursue a full merger with Sangamon County. With 100 percent of the votes counted, Sangamon County had 31,851 votes in favor and 10,801 against.
Taxpayers also voted to authorize a sales tax in Sangamon County for school-facility purposes. With 100 percent of the votes counted, Sangamon County had 44,195 votes in favor and 38,457 against.
Turned down as the Mt. Pulaski CUSD 23-Proposition to issue $10 million school building bonds. With 100 precent of the votes counted, Sangamon County had two votes in favor and three against.
There was also a rejected referendum on the Village of Jerome. A proposition for the Village of Jerome to levy a new tax for Illinois Municipal Retirement Purposes.
With 100 percent of the votes counted, Sangamon County had 311 in favor and 544 against.
Sangamon County also said "no" to the Rochester Public Library District Proposition. With 100 percent of the votes counted, Sangamon County had 1,884 in favor and 2,057 against.
