Report: Gardner spent $9,314 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Gardner Community Consolidated School District 72C is up 10.3 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Grundy County school district spent $8,442 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $9,314 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 219 to 193.

Gardner's spending in 2017-18 was 30.2 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
