Analysis: New Hope administrators rank 498th in state for average pay

Administrators in New Hope Community Consolidated School District 6 earn an average of $96,000 per year, ranking 498th out of 864 districts in the state, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card.

The 2018 average is 56.8% higher than in 2014 and 11.1% higher than in 2009. District administrators make 10.5% less than the state average of $107,279.

Administrator salaries depend on the district's size, location and resources, as well as the individual's level of experience and education, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

The Wayne County school district enrolled 166 students in 2017-18. There is an average of 166 students for every administrator, compared to a statewide ratio of 181 to 1.
