Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Dekalb County?

There were 15 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Dekalb County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Dekalb County were men. The median age of the parolees was 35. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 49-year-old man sentenced for homicide in 2009.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Jose Mulero. He was convicted of homicide in 2009 when he was 39 years old. He is now 49.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Dekalb County municipality.
