Q1 2019 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Fulton County?

There were six offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Fulton County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that all of the released offenders in Fulton County were men. The median age of the parolees was 42. The youngest parolee was a 28-year-old man sentenced for a property crime in 2017, and the oldest was a 72-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2007.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Lee R. Smizer. He was convicted of a sex crime in 2007 when he was 61 years old. He is now 72.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Fulton County municipality.
