I A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Henry-Senachwine CUSD 5 was held in the Henry-Senachwine High School Media Center, 1023 College Ave., Henry, Illinois on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.
II There were present in person: Lori DeWeerth, James Downey, Angie Earles, Jeremy Kiesewetter, Mary Jo Klein, Melissa Thompson, and Randy Witko, comprising a quorum of the Board.

Henry-Senachwine Grade School Principal’s Report to the School Board May, 2019
On Friday, April 26th, the Second Grade held a talent show for parents and raised $1,250 over two days for St. Jude’s.
The Sectional Track Meet was held on Friday, May 4. Our 8th grade girls and our 8th grade boys both won the championship. Ten athletes qualified for state.
Our music departments have also excelled in receiving awards recently. On Saturday, April 27, the Junior High Choir scored an “excellent” rating at the IGSMA State competition. The Sixth Grade Choir earned a Division I “superior” rating on their performance that day.
The Grades 4-12 Band Concert on Sunday, May 5 was extremely enjoyable. The students did an excellent job.

PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
o Savannah Stowe was the winner of the 38th Annual Congressional Art Show. Savannah’s artwork will be on display at the Capital in Washington D.C. for the next school year.
o Mrs. Self and FBLA sponsored a blood drive hosted by the American Red Cross on Friday, April 26th here at HSHS.
o The 2018-2019 National Honor Society Induction Ceremony was held on Tuesday, May 14th here at HSHS.
o HSHS will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week May 13th through May 17th. Teachers and staff will be treated to breakfast, lunch, and other treats throughout the week.
o The Athletic Boosters met on Wednesday, May 8th here at HSHS.
o The Show Choir held their Swing Concert on Wednesday, May 8th here at HSHS.
o HSHS will be administering Advanced Placement exams on May 10th, 14th, and 15th to students taking AP U.S. History, AP Calculus, and AP English.
o The HSHS Awards Assembly is scheduled for Thursday, May 16th at 9:15 a.m. as part of our Spring Fling Day.
o The Spring Choral Concert is Sunday, May 19th at 2:00 p.m. The Spring Band Concert was held, Sunday, May 5th at HSHS.
o Baccalaureate is scheduled for Sunday, May 19th at 7:00 p.m. in the HSHS Auditorium.
o Senior Semester Exams are scheduled for May 21st and May 22nd. Semester Exams for Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshmen are scheduled for May 29th and May 30th.
o Graduation Practice is scheduled for 10:15 on Friday, May 24th. Graduation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 26th.
o The last day for teachers will be Friday May 31st.
