I A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Henry-Senachwine CUSD 5 was held in the Henry-Senachwine High School Media Center, 1023 College Ave., Henry, Illinois on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 7:00 p.m.

II There were present in person: Lori DeWeerth, Angie Earles, Michelle Gibson, Jeremy Kiesewetter, Mary Jo Klein, Steve Rowe, and Randy Witko, comprising a quorum of the Board.

There were absent: None

III Motion by Angie Earles, seconded by Michelle Gibson, that the Board of Education of CUSD 5 approve the agenda with an addition or deletion or correction of the following items:

At this time of year, we also have many field trips, the last effort and conduct trip for junior high, an annual 3rd grade garage sale, and a 2nd grade St. Jude fundraiser day featuring a talent show and a bake sale.

8.02 High School Principal – Dr. Hill:

o Parent Orientation Night for the Class of 2023 was held on Wednesday, April 3rd. 8th grade parents and students received information regarding the transition to HSHS. We had a great turn-out. There were about 25 students and their families in attendance.

o HSHS students have completed the S.A.T. (juniors), the PSAT-10 (sophomores), the PSAT-9 (freshmen) and the Illinois Science Assessment (any student taking Biology) during the months of March and April. We have completed all assessments for the school year with the exception of those students taking the Advanced Placement classes. Those assessments begin May 10th and conclude on May 15th

o The Henry-Senachwine District Band and Chorus members will competed in the IHSA Organization Contest on Friday, April 12th. About 50 students from HSHS and HSJH participated in this event.

o FBLA will be sponsoring a Career Day on Thursday, April 18th

o HSHS will be sponsoring a blood drive hosted by the American Red Cross on Friday, April 26th in the gym.

o The Spring Concert/Awards date for the District Band is Sunday, May 5th @ 1:00 p.m. Chorus will hold their event on May 19th @ 2:00 p.m.

o Teacher Appreciation Week is May 13th – May 17th
