Ball-Chatham Community Unit School District 5 issued the following announcement on March 20.

The Ball-Chatham School District is committed to keeping students engaged in their learning during this statewide school closure. In an effort to maintain a continuity of learning, we are offering optional home-based alternative learning opportunities (E-Learning), to reinforce skills already learned to prevent possible regression. E-Learning opportunities will be posted on our website and accessible through any Google-compatible device beginning Tuesday, March 17th.

Teachers will be available as a resource to answer questions through electronic means during the E-Learning days. Teachers may also provide additional resources on their individual Google Classrooms, websites and hold virtual office hours. Work completed during this time will not be used for grading or assessment purposes.

Students cannot be penalized, or receive extra credit for work during this time.
