St. John's Hospital Springfield Illinois issued the following announcement on Aug. 4.
Ace Sign Company and Primo Designs presented contributions totaling $24,000 to the Memorial Medical Center Foundation and the HSHS St. John’s Foundation. The contributions are part of a collaborative fundraising effort benefitting COVID-19 relief efforts through the sale of Hearts for Healthcare Workers yard signs and t-shirts. Dollars raised will benefit both hospitals, in addition to other hospitals within each of their respective systems. Sponsored by Ace Sign Company and Primo Designs, the fundraiser kicked off in April and concluded May 25.
“Amidst challenging times, the unprecedented show of support from our community has been uplifting for us all, said Todd Bringuet, CEO of Ace Sign Co. “Our team at Ace Sign Co. was honored to have a part in this outpouring of support. It was an incredible collaboration between our communities, the hospital foundations, area manufacturers, and many great local retailers that enabled the success of this program. Over 6,000 signs have been proudly displayed across central Illinois in a unified show of support from the community.”
“When we were approached with this idea, we (Primo) were humbled and excited to be a part of this initiative,” said Jay Capriotti, general manager of Primo Designs. “It was a great way to show our healthcare workers how much we appreciate their dedication and commitment to keep everyone safe. It was wonderful to see how the hospitals and community came together in a time of uncertainty. With this program we were able to raise and donate $4000.”
“HSHS St. John’s Foundation is grateful for Ace Sign Company, Primo Designs and all the participating retail outlets,” said Beverly Neisler, chief development officer at HSHS St. John’s Foundation. “This truly was a community collaboration where people could come together to express their appreciation for all healthcare workers. Thank you to the community and to our partners for supporting this awesome fundraising initiative.”
“We’re grateful to see people from the community – both from Ace Sign Company and Primo Designs and the community at large who bought the signs and T-shirts – step up and support the healthcare community during this global pandemic,” said Melissa Hansen Schmadeke, executive director of the Memorial Medical Center Foundation. “Their response has been truly gratifying.”
