53 percent of applicants to the University of Illinois at Springfield were admitted for fall 2018

At the University of Illinois at Springfield, 62 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 50 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Springfield enrolled 4,575 students in fall 2018, including 2,814 in undergraduate and 1,761 in graduate programs, data shows. 17.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

90 percent of undergraduates are residents of Illinois, and 6 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (66 percent) and Black or African American (14 percent).

The school admitted 53 percent of the 2,374 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 25 percent enrolled.
