Village of Chatham Village Board met Aug. 11.
Here is the minutes provided by the board:
A. Call to Order

3. Roll Call
Present: Trustee Chiaro, Detmers, Mau, and Village President Kimsey. Absent: Trustee Mann, Gerger, and Scherschel.
Others present: Clerk Dahlkamp, Attorney Moredock, Police Chief Foli, and Village Administrator McCarthy.
4. Public Announcements: If you have a Public announcement you must email it to (publiccomments@chathamil.net) at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the scheduled meeting.
There were no public announcements.
5. Public Comments Agenda Topics: If you have a Public Comments on Agenda Topics you must email it to (publiccomments@chathamil.net) at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the scheduled meeting.
There were no public comments on agenda topics.
B. Consent Agenda
1. Regular Village Board Meeting Minutes from Tuesday, July 28th, 2020.
2. Warrants Resolution 33-20
Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Chiaro to put the consent agenda on the table for action. The consent agenda was approved by voice vote.
C. Old Business
There was no old business this evening.
D. New Business
1. Public Comments Village Business: If you have a Public Comments on Village Business you must email it to (publiccomments@chathamil.net) at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the scheduled meeting.
Due to the fact there were only three trustees present at tonight's meeting, Trustee Detmers made a motion to move the committee of the whole meeting in two weeks. This was approved by voice vote.
Steve Caten- Spoke on the possibility of Chatham becoming a golf cart community. The resident is in favor of this for the village.
Kevin Daugherty- Spoke in favor of becoming a golf cart community. Being a business owner he stated it would help keep more business in the community.
Will Tracy- Resident on E. Walnut. Requesting a communal gardening area for the village. Suggested the location be on the east side of south park. Stated it will be great for community involvement.
E. Schedule of Meetings this Month
1. Planning Commission 6:00 PM Municipal Hall August 20, 2020
2. Village Board 6:00 PM Municipal Hall August 25, 2020
F. Closed Session
Trustee Chiaro moved, seconded by Trustee Mau to go into closed session under Personnel under 2(c)(1). This passed 4 yes, 0 no, and 3 absent as follows: Trustee Mau yes, Chiaro yes, Detmers yes, Village President Kimsey yes, Scherschel absent, Mann absent, and Gerger absent.
G. Reconvene Open Session
Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Chiaro to reconvene open session. This passed 4 yes, 0 no, and 3 absent as follows: Trustee Mau yes, Chiaro yes, Detmers yes, Village President Kimsey yes, Scherschel absent, Mann absent, and Gerger absent.
H. Closing
1. Adjournment
Trustee Mau moved, seconded by Trustee Chiaro to adjourn the meeting. This passed by voice vote at 6:28.
