Riverton Village Board of Trustees met Sept. 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Riverton held their regular board meeting at the Riverton Village Hall, Riverton, IL.

The board meeting was called to order at 7:02 pm. Those answering roll call: Trustees: Russ Patrick, Dave Charles, Gina Rusciolelli, Joe Bartley, Jim Mileham, Michelle Landess, and Mayor Tom Rader.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to approve September 8th regular board meeting minutes and pay the bills. It was seconded by Trustee Mileham. Trustees Charles, Rusciolelli, Bartley, and Mileham voted yes. Trustee Landess abstained.

New Business:

Superintendent Lyons submitted his report. The Christian Church will allow for parking while Riveria subdivision streets are repaired. Trustee Charles asked about new trees and checking the quote. Trustee Charles also stated that the Glen Acres subdivision block party will be cancelled this year due to ongoing COVID 19 concerns.

Chief Lawley submitted his report.

Office Manager Patterson had nothing to report.

Treasurer Baker had nothing to report.

Committee Reports:

Trustee Landess, chairperson of the Administrative Committee, had nothing to report.

Trustee Rusciolelli, chairperson of the Public Safety Committee, had nothing to report.

Trustee Mileham, chairperson of the Public Utility Committee, stated that the village disconnected 24 accounts and has 11 payment plans set up for utilities. He also stated that Petersburg Plumbing has a new solution for sewer projects for the future.

Trustee Charles, chairperson of the Parks Committee, stated that the restrooms will be shut down for the season at the Field of Dreams.

Trustee Patrick, chairperson of the Public Works Committee, had nothing to report.

Trustee Bartley, chairperson of the Economic Development Committee, stated that Phase 1 of the roads and gutters at the truck stop were complete. Trunk or Treat will be cancelled due to COVID-19. Trustee Bartley made a motion to approve Trick or Treat hours for October 31 from 5-8pm for the Village of Riverton. Trustee Patrick seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Rusciolelli, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Mayor Rader stated that Sangamon County will release a press release on Wednesday on the new alert system.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to enter Executive Session at 7:15 pm. Trustee Landess seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Rusciolelli, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to enter Open Session at 7:28 pm. Trustee Landess seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Rusciolelli, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Rusciolelli made a motion to approve the resignation of Officer Chris Collins effective September 29, 2020. Trustee Landess seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Rusciolelli, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Charles made a motion to approve Ordinance #20-018 approving amendment of cell tower lease. Trustee Landess seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Rusciolelli, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.

Trustee Bartley made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:29 pm. Trustee Landess seconded. Trustees Patrick, Charles, Rusciolelli, Bartley, Mileham, and Landess voted yes.
