Village of Greenview Village Board met May 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a special scheduled board meeting.

President Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance.

The roll call indicated that Trustees Patrick Feagans, Norman Hofmann, Jake VanCleve, Roy Lee, Elizabeth  Soldwedel and Sarah Heavner were present. Other village personnel present were Village Treasurer, John Holt,  and Village Clerk Monica Brumm.

Public Participation:

No public participation

Jennifer Anders, Don Taul (via teleconference) and Samantha Weidenbender, from Woodard and Curran were  present and had a discussion with the board regarding the sewer project. Project bid for the collection system  was to much, and the recommendation of the engineers was to accept the bid for $2.9 million on the treatment  plant, contingent upon a successful re-bid of the collection system.

In discussing with the contractors, the bids, the big reasons for the inflated price were the dewatering and  backfill, and some of it due to COVID, and supply demand. They felt with a redesign of adding grinder pumps  and 2 lift stations, they could raise the depth of the sewer up, which would lessen the cost of dewatering and fill,  and would possibly reduce the overall cost for the collection system.

Advised that they would help with finding funding for the additional costs, and that it would still come in at the  $60-$100 for each homeowner. Re-design could take 2-4 weeks, and then another 30-day bid process.

Discussion was had on the 3 options that the board had, 1. To accept bids as presented, 2. To re-design and re bid, or 3. Scrap the project all together.

Treasurer John Holt gave the numbers of what we already had invested in the project, and what a monthly re payment would be.

A motion was made by Trustee Lee and seconded by Trustee Hofmann to accept the bid for the treatment plant  contingent on rebid pricing. Trustee Lee, Trustee Heavner, Trustee Hofmann, Trustee VanCleve all in favor  and voted aye. Trustee Soldwedel and Trustee Feagans not in favor and voted no. Motion passed.

A motion was made by Trustee Soldwedel to re-vote, due to new information that was received after the vote  was taken. Motion was seconded by Trustee Feagans. Trustees Heavner, Lee, Hofmann, VanCleve all in favor  voted aye. Trustee Soldwedel and Feagans not in favor, voted no. Motion passed to accept bid for treatment  plant contingent on rebid pricing for the collection plant.

Meeting was adjourned 8:30 pm
