Village of Greenview Village Board Met May 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regular scheduled board meeting. President Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Patrick Feagans, Roy Lee, Norman Hofmann, Liz Soldwedel, Raymond VanCleve, and Sarah Heavner were present. Other village personnel present were Police Chief, John Holt, Village Employee Joe Reynolds, and Village Clerk Monica Brumm.

Public Participation:

No public participation

President Kevin Curry swore in the newly elected trustees, Sarah Heavner, Elizabeth Soldwedel, Norman Hofmann, and Patrick Feagans.

Joe Reynolds gave the maintenance report for April. A motion was made by Trustee Lee and seconded by Trustee VanCleve to approve the maintenance report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

John Holt gave the police report for April. A motion was made by Trustee Heavner and seconded by Trustee Feagans to approve the police report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

The minutes from the April 19th, 2021 board meeting were reviewed by each board member. A motion made by Trustee Lee and seconded by Trustee Heavner to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed in record.

Income/Expense/Bill Report- The bills were reviewed by each board member. Approval of the income/expense report was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Filed into record.

Old Business

1. Discussion was had on the Village Trustee Handbook; final revisions made and will be sent to Village Attorney for review.

2. Discussion was had on the property on West VanBuren regarding easements, and possible narrowing.

3. Discussion was had on the sidewalk at the Dollar General store

New Business

1. Discussion was had on filling the zoning officer position after Ken Ratliff resigned. Discussion had on forming a committee to handle those issues.

2. Discussion was had on purchasing a new mower. Vote was tabled to get bids from other companies. 

3. Discussion was had on the sewer ordinance; the draft has been completed it is now in the hands of the engineers to make sure everything is included in it.

4. Discussion was had on the ordinance regarding dogs and dangerous dogs within Village limits. 

5. Discussion was had on trees in the right of ways.

Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans: Nothing

Trustee Heavner: There will be a few school classes from around the area that will be using the park for yearend trips.

Trustee Lee: Trustee Lee advised he would be resigning as Trustee the first meeting in June. Advised that it was his recommendation that Norm Hofmann take over as chair of the sewer committee, and Ray VanCleve take over as chair of the employee committee.

Trustee Hofmann: Attended a well to tap seminar. Discussion also had on water shut offs at every home. Trustee Soldwedel: Advised that there was a meeting today regarding final numbers for year end. Trustee VanCleve: Nothing

Treasurer: Advised that the budget is going to be sent to the attorney.

Clerk: Nothing

President: Discussion on the sewer.
