Village of Greenview Village Board met June 7.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regular scheduled board meeting. President Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Patrick Feagans, Norman Hofmann, Liz Soldwedel, and Raymond VanCleve, were present. Other village personnel present were Police Chief, John Holt and Village Clerk Monica Brumm.

A presentation was made to retired Village Trustee Roy Lee

Public Participation:

Branden Wellhausen was present interested in the open Trustee seat available.

Monica Brumm gave the maintenance report for May. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee VanCleve to approve the maintenance report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

John Holt gave the police report for May. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee VanCleve to approve the police report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

The minutes from the May 17th, 2021, board meeting was reviewed by each board member. A motion made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.

Income/Expense/Bill Report- The bills were reviewed by each board member. Approval of the income/expense report was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Filed into record.

Old Business

1. Discussion was had on the updates that Rise Broadband wants to do with their equipment on the water tower.

2. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee VanCelve to approve the replacement of water line that goes across the creek. Work to be done by Petersburg Plumbing and Excavating for $15,000. All present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

New Business

1. Discussion was had on Street Fest to be held by Taapers.

2. Discussion was had on the needing to get a letter of intent to purchase a 15x25 piece of ground at the trailer court for the sewer project. A motion was made by VanCleve and seconded by Trustee Hofmann to continue with drawing up a letter of intent to purchase a 15x25 piece of ground at the trailer court for $5000 contingent upon the awarding of a bid for the sewer project. All present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

3. Discussion was had regarding the American Rescue Plan funding and the additional grant funding for sewer project.

4. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Feagans to hire a part-time police officer at a rate of $17 per hour not to exceed the amount budgeted for the year. This officer will be used on an as-needed basis. All present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans: Waiting on a date for closing for the purchase of the Westerfeld Property. 

Trustee Heavner: Absent

Trustee Hofmann: Nothing

Trustee Soldwedel: Budget will be going to the attorney.

Trustee VanCleve: Discussion had on low hanging trees on VanBuren.

Treasurer: Nothing

Clerk: Discussion on moving the meeting scheduled for 7/5/21 to 7/6/21. Reminded everyone to come get the village e-mails sent up. Advised that Don Taul gave update.

President: Wanted the board to come up with criteria for the Citizen of the Year award so that we can get it advertise for nominating for the 2021 award.

Meeting adjourned at 8:27 pm.
